The Palace of Fine Arts was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition to exhibit art work. It's one of the few surviving structures form the Exposition that exists and remains situation on its original site. In 1965, it was rebuilt and the surrounding lagoon and walkways were renovated and completed in early 2009. The park is open day and night and is free to visit.
